PDUs & eligibility | Step-by-step PDU Claim Guide

About ProLearNxt trainings

How do I choose and enroll in a training?

Browse our courses for the syllabus, duration, delivery mode, and fees. Open the course details and select Enroll. Check the training calendar for scheduled batches or contact us for help choosing a course.

Does completing training mean I hold a PMI certification?

No. A ProLearNxt course completion certificate documents your training. Credentials such as PMP or PgMP are awarded by PMI only after you meet PMI's eligibility requirements and pass its assessment. Training completion does not guarantee exam success or a PMI credential.

Where can I get evidence of completion and my PDU breakdown?

Keep your course completion certificate, course outline, dates, and learning-hour records. Ask support@prolearnxt.com for your course-specific PMI Talent Triangle breakdown before submitting a claim. Include your course name and enrollment reference; do not send passwords or payment-card details.

PDUs: hours, eligibility & PMI requirements

One hour of eligible learning equals one PDU. A completed 35-hour course therefore represents 35 potential education PDUs, subject to relevant content, actual participation, your certification's rules, and PMI's review. Course listings show the full-course total; enrollment alone does not earn PDUs.

Exam application hours are not renewal PDUs. The education hours needed to apply for a PMI exam (for example, PMP's 35 hours of project management education) and PDUs used to maintain an existing certification serve different purposes. Do not report pre-certification training as renewal PDUs for a credential you did not yet hold. Check the applicable PMI eligibility rules.

ProLearNxt PDU Claim Guide

Before you start: Complete the training. Have your certificate, course title, provider name, start/end dates, eligible hours, and course-specific Talent Triangle allocation ready. Claim only learning completed within your certification's applicable CCR cycle.

  1. Sign in: Go to ccrs.pmi.org and log in with your PMI account. Check the certification and renewal cycle shown on your dashboard.
  2. Start a claim: Choose Report PDUs. Under Education, choose Course or Training (labels may change).
  3. Identify the training: Search for the provider and activity. If the course is not listed, enter the provider name from your certificate (ProLearNxt), the course title, description, and dates manually where CCRS permits. Do not invent a PMI provider or activity ID.
  4. Allocate the hours: Enter your documented learning hours under Ways of Working, Power Skills, and Business Acumen. Use the course-specific breakdown supplied by ProLearNxt. The three fields must total the eligible hours; never count the same hour in more than one category.
  5. Review & submit: Confirm the details, read and accept the accuracy declaration, then submit. Save the claim confirmation/reference.
  6. Track & retain evidence: Check your CCRS claim history and dashboard for status and credited PDUs. Respond to any PMI review request. Keep your training records for at least 18 months after your CCR cycle ends.

How PMI breaks down education PDUs

PMI Talent Triangle: illustrative 35-hour allocation only
CategoryRelevant learningExample
Ways of WorkingPredictive, agile/hybrid delivery, methods & tools20 PDUs
Power SkillsLeadership, communication & collaboration10 PDUs
Business AcumenStrategy, business context & value delivery5 PDUs
Total (not a fixed allocation for every course)35 PDUs

PMP renewal example: 60 PDUs per 3-year cycle, including at least 35 Education PDUs and at least 8 in each Talent Triangle area; up to 25 may be Giving Back PDUs. The example above alone does not meet the 8-PDU Business Acumen minimum. Requirements vary by certification; course hours do not replace cycle requirements.

Important: Only relevant, completed education is claimable. PMI determines eligibility and approval; a displayed PDU total is not a guarantee. Need your actual allocation? Email support@prolearnxt.com.
